Abstract
Purpose: Analysed retrospectively the affecting factors after anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve in cubital tunnel syndrome.

Materials and Methods: Reviewed 30 patients who were diagnosed as cubital tunnel syndrome and operated with anterior subcutaneous transposition of the ulnar nerve and could be followed up for more than 12 months. There were 22 men and 8 women. The mean follow-up period was 22 months (14~34 months). Utilized disability of arm shoulder and hand (DASH) score. Sex, age, etiology, period of symptom, time of operation, EMGNCV test, intrinsic muscle atrophy, operator, job activity and diabetes mellitus were analyzed as the affecting factors after the operation.

Results: The result of clinical evaluation showed 9 excellent, 14 good, 4 fair and 3 poor cases out of 30 cases. There were no significant differences in clinical results after the operation according to sex, age, etiology, period of symptom, time of operation, muscle atrophy, operator and diabetes mellitus. There were significant differences according to job activity (p=0.032) and EMG-NCV test (p=0.014).

Conclusion: In case of severe results of nerve conduction test or the higher activity of the occupation, the poor results are expected after the anterior subcutaneous transposition of the cubital tunnel syndrome
